What this shows

Website Performance is where Ranksphere checks your website and tells you how it's doing. Instead of jumping between a search dashboard, a speed test, and a technical crawler, you get the whole picture in one place: how you show up in Google search, how fast your pages load, which pages Google has indexed, an overall health score, and a full technical audit of what needs fixing.

You'll find it under a location's Performance tab, on the Website Performance sub-tab.

Ranksphere reports on your site. It does not change anything on it. You or your developer decide which fixes to make.

What you need to connect

• For search data: connect Google Search Console. This is what lets Ranksphere show your real clicks, impressions, and the search terms bringing people to your pages. You connect it once through Google, then choose the property for this site.
• For everything else: page speed, indexing, and the technical audit start working as soon as your website is set on the location. There's nothing else to connect.

Ranksphere uses Google Search Console for your search data. It does not use Google Analytics.

What Ranksphere checks

Search performance

From your connected Search Console, you'll see:

• Clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position, for the whole site and broken down by keyword and by page.
• Top keywords and top pages, so you can see which searches and which pages actually bring people in.
• A search view you can filter and sort, so you can dig into a specific keyword or page.

Page speed and Core Web Vitals

Ranksphere measures how fast your pages load and how they feel to real visitors, and scores your site on performance, SEO, accessibility, and best practices. It keeps the history too, so you can see scores move as you make changes.

Indexing

See which of your pages Google has indexed and which it hasn't. This is built from your site's own page list and checked against Google, so you can spot pages that should be in search but aren't.

Site health

Get an overall website health score and a domain strength figure from a full technical crawl of your site. You can run the crawl again whenever you want to see what's changed.

Issues become tasks

Anything the crawl finds that needs attention, such as broken links, redirects, or missing metadata, is turned into a task and ordered by impact. So instead of a long report, you get a clear list of what to fix first. See Smart Tasks.

The crawl page pool

Checking a website means crawling its pages, so each plan includes a monthly pool of pages Ranksphere can crawl. You choose how much of a large site gets checked, and you can see how many pages you have left before you crawl.

• The "Crawl now" prompt shows how many pages you have left this month.
• If you reach the limit, Ranksphere stops before going over.
• You can top up with an extra pack of crawl pages any time. Crawl-page packs run for 30 days and don't roll over.

You can see your monthly pool and top up in Settings → Billing. The exact number of pages each plan includes is listed there and on the pricing page.

Exporting and scheduling

• Export a report now. Use Export PDF on the sub-tab to download the current view as a report you can send on.
• Schedule it. Use the schedule control (the gear icon) to have a website report generated on a repeat, emailed to you, and saved to the location's Reports tab. Each scheduled run uses one report credit. See Reports.

Who can do what

• Viewing the data is open to anyone with access to the location, including the client (Guest) users you've shared a location with.
• Connecting Search Console and choosing the property is for Owners and Admins (and Members with the matching permission).
• Scheduling reports needs permission to generate reports, which Owners, Admins, and Members with that permission have.

Common questions

What do I need to connect?

Google Search Console, for your search data. You connect it once and pick the property for this site. Page speed, indexing, and the technical audit work as soon as your website is set, with nothing else to connect.

Do I need Google Analytics?

No. Ranksphere uses Google Search Console for your website's search data, not Google Analytics.

I don't see any search data. Why?

Search data comes from Google Search Console, so it appears once you've connected it and chosen the property for this site. Until then, you'll see a prompt to connect. Page speed, indexing, and the audit don't depend on Search Console.

What is the crawl page pool?

It's the number of pages Ranksphere can crawl for you each month. Crawling checks your site page by page, so the pool keeps large sites under control. You can see how many pages you have left before each crawl, and top up if you need more.

Will Ranksphere change my website?

No. Ranksphere reports on your site, it doesn't change anything on it. You decide which fixes to make.

How is this different from a website audit?

The technical audit is part of Website Performance. On top of the audit, you also get your Google search performance, page speed, indexing, and an overall health score, all in one place.

Can I use this for client websites?

Yes. Check any site on a location you manage, and use the findings to walk through search performance and fixes with your team or clients.
